Graduation 2017

BOARDWIDE GRADUATION CELEBRATION:
There will be a mandatory graduation celebration at the Gale Centre in Niagara Falls on May 18, 2017 in the morning. Transportation will be provided. Participation is mandatory in order to take part in the Graduation Ceremony on June 29, 2017.

GRADUATION REHEARSAL
Practice for the graduation will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday June 29th, 2017 at Brock University. Attendance is mandatory. Students must arrange their own transportation and arrive on time. Students must not make any appointments or have other commitments for that morning.

GRADUATION CEREMONY
Graduates are to be at Brock University on Thursday, June 29th , 2017  by 6:00 p.m., dressed in their white dresses and tuxedos. Flowers for the girls and boutonnieres for the boys will be distributed at that time. The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m.  All seating is on a “first come, first served” basis. If special arrangements are required, please contact student services as soon as possible.

PHOTOGRAPHS:
A professional photographer will take a picture as each student receives the D.M. diploma.  Both the individual photo and the composite entitled “Class of 2017” will be provided to all graduates who participate in the graduation ceremony. This is included in the graduation fee.

GRADUATION MASS:
Mass will be celebrated for graduates and their families on Friday June 30th at 5:00p.m. at St. Julia’s Church, 251 Glenridge Avenue.

GRADUATION SOCIAL:
The Graduation social will be held at John-Michael’s Banquet and Conference Centre in Thorold, on Friday June 30th at 6:30 p.m., immediately following the Family Graduation Mass. Please note that this is the only school sanctioned event being held for graduation.

FEES:
The fee for a male graduate is $240, each female graduate will pay a fee of $150.  These payments cover such items as the rental and set up of the gymnasium at Brock University, girls’ bouquets, boy’s formal wear and boutonnieres, pictures, programs, graduation social, graduation retreat, etc. This fee does not cover the cost of the dress for a female graduate. The fee must be paid by April 21st . Payment can be made online by visiting http://ncdsb.schoolcashonline.com.  Payment may also be made by cheque (payable to Denis Morris), or by credit, or debit card, and submitted to Student Services. No cash payments please.  Please note, the school fee includes the graduation dinner for the graduate only.  Guest tickets are available for $40.00.

GRADUATION DRESS FOR FORMAL EXERCISES:

BOYS:
Collins Formal Wear located at 61 Geneva Street, will supply the formal wear for the boys, and measurements will be taken at the school on TBA. If male graduates miss the scheduled time, it will be their responsibility to go to the store, on their own time to be measured. If rental shoes are required arrangements should be made at that time. Black dress shoes and socks are mandatory.

 GIRLS:
A new graduation dress may be purchased through Maddalena Uniforms located at 2 Tremont Drive, at a cost of $130 plus tax. Measurements will be taken at the school on TBA during the lunches. The graduation fee does not include the cost of the dress. Used dresses will be advertised for sale on the bulletin boards in Student Services.

Custom made fitted dresses can be purchased from Nadia Hakimi for $180, fabric included. Nadia is also willing to do alterations on graduation and/or any other dresses. She can be reached at 905-227-4769 (home) or 905-327-0141(cell).

Please note: since the dress is 8 inches from the floor, plain white dress shoes must be worn.
