Nathan DiPietro seized the moment for the Denis Morris Reds Tuesday.
The 15-year-old forward scored three goals and added an assist as the Reds dominated the St. Mary Catholic Secondary School Crusaders 11-0 at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Association AA boys hockey championships at the Seymour-Hanna Sports Complex.

Friday’s opening game of the Ontario Catholic Classic Basketball Tournament was a memorable one for Cam Hastings and his Denis Morris Reds teammates.
Denis Morris ended up dropping a 57-41 decision to the second-seeded Hamilton Cathedral Gaels but it will be the atmosphere and not the final score that the Reds will remember for years to come.
The stands were full of Denis Morris students wearing red hoodies and they made a lot of noise in support of their team.

The newest convenor of the Niagara Catholic Athletic Association and Niagara Catholic District School Board kindergarten to Grade 12 health and physical education consultant brings a lengthy and varied sports resume to the role.
Jennifer Benoit, a 43-year-old Welland native, played all sports growing up in elementary school at St. Kevin’s and at high school at Notre Dame.

Emily Slota realized bigger wasn’t necessarily better when it came time to choose a school for her post-secondary education.
The 18-year-old graduate of Denis Morris made the rounds at a handful of NCAA Division I schools before settling on West Virginia Wesleyan College, a Division II school with an enrolment of about 1,400.
“I knew I wouldn’t do well in a big school just because I like the small environment,” Slota said. “It definitely was nothing like any of the other D1 schools. I was always aiming for D1 but when we were visiting them it was just not for me.”
